4th of July at the Cabin

During the week of the 4th of July,

We took our kids up to Grannie Toni's cabin.

It's a 4 hour road trip from here,

so we stopped in Evanston for lunch.

You will only find chairs like this in a McDonalds when you are in Wyoming!

The road trip was not fun for the kids.

Emma isn't sure she will make it.
The best part is the movie player.
We are going to have to get a 2nd one before we venture more then 4 hours.

The kids explored, and tore apart the cabin right away!

When Emma was a baby we took pictures of her on this bear rug naked.
I asked her to do it again, but she looked at me like I was crazy!

Lots of golf cart rides!

Madison is sure the golf cart is hers.

She spent a lot of time just sitting in it.

We made 4th of July sugar cookies!

Madison went all over like she was twice her size.

Once we were at a river by a waterwheel,

and she REALLY wanted to climb down into the water, just before the wheel.

While Emma cowered 50 feet from the water because she was afraid of getting wet!

Madison is also sure she can swim. She kept just diving in by herself.

Madison had to be strapped down while eating outside because we couldn't get her to eat,

she wanted to explore!

The 4th of July carnival!

This is my favorite part of the 4th at the cabin.

There is a small town carnival, with games, food, prizes, and little rides.

It is just perfect for the little kids!

Madison didn't want to dig for treasure!

She is in the back, in the middle, clinging for Gannie!

Emma on the other hand thought this was the greatest thing in the world!

This is the extent of all the games.

Very small town, I love it.

We had to stay inside and miss the fireworks because of the rain,

So we did glow sticks instead, which isn't a good compromise for Emma.

Then there was June...

June has been so busy, and I didn't take a lot of pictures.

We had a lot of visitors in town, and Val and I left town (that's on the next post!).

Emma took summer school on Tuesdays, Wendsdays, Thursdays.

Both kids took swimming lessons and did Awesome.

Madison got really sick (with Hand, Foot, Mouth), but thankfully it passed quickly.

This is the cupboard where we keep kid cups. I can't keep this kid out of anything.

Both kids spent a lot of time collecting, and killing bugs.

Madison spends a lot of time climbing on things.

Emma loves to make faces, and has very strong emotions.

Madison also has very strong emotions. This is her wanting the camera. You would think something serious was wrong.

Val and Emma went to the Air show June 6 and 7.

They went with our friends Brian and Timothy the first day.
